Home Extensions
We design and build extensions that blend seamlessly with your existing property, creating practical and stylish new living areas that enhance your home’s value.
Explore Our Home ExtensionsBelton is a village in the north east of the district with its own parish council. It falls within the area Measom Building Services Ltd has worked since 1998.
Rural properties here often have room to extend generously, and the practical constraints tend to be drainage, access and ground conditions rather than space. We establish those at the survey stage.
We are based in Woodville and accredited by the Federation of Master Builders. The same team runs your project from the first consultation to the final finish.
The full range is available in Belton and the villages around it. Every project starts with a free, no-obligation consultation.

Belton sits in the North West Leicestershire district, so planning applications and building control for homes in the village are handled by North West Leicestershire District Council. Belton Parish Council is consulted on applications.
Many single storey extensions fall under permitted development and need no application at all. Almost all structural work still needs building regulations approval, which is a separate process. We take you through both rather than leaving you to chase it.

FAQs
No. Belton is not among the 28 conservation areas in the North West Leicestershire district. Individual properties can still be listed or carry other restrictions, so confirm your specific address with the council.
Yes. Village and rural work makes up a good share of what we do across the district. Older and agricultural buildings usually need more survey work up front — foundations, wall construction and drainage are rarely where you would expect — but that is normal rather than a problem.
North West Leicestershire District Council. Belton Parish Council is consulted on applications in the village. The district council makes the decision.
Not always. It turns on the size, height and position of the extension and on whether the property is listed or in a conservation area. Many single storey rear extensions fall under permitted development. We will tell you what we think applies at the free consultation, before you spend anything on drawings.
Almost always, yes. The two are separate. Planning is about whether the work suits its surroundings; building regulations are about how it is built — structure, insulation, fire safety, drainage and ventilation. Most structural work needs approval even under permitted development.
There is no honest single figure and we would rather not quote one. Cost turns on the size and shape of the extension, ground conditions and foundations, how much glazing you want, the finishes and whether drainage needs moving. We give a written quotation after a free consultation at the property.
If you are building on or near a shared boundary, or excavating close to a neighbouring property, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 may require you to serve notice. That is separate from planning permission. We will flag it if we think it applies, so it is handled early rather than becoming a dispute mid-build.
Get in touch and we will arrange a free consultation at the property. We will talk through what you want to achieve, look at what is practical and give honest guidance on cost and timescales before you commit to anything.
