Castle Donington is one of the larger settlements in the district, in the north east near the Trent. Measom Building Services Ltd has been building across North West Leicestershire since 1998.
The village has a substantial historic core along the High Street, with considerable modern development around it. The two need quite different approaches, so we would rather look at the property than quote from a description.
We are accredited by the Federation of Master Builders and based in Woodville. The same team manages your project from the first consultation to the final finish.
The full range is available in Castle Donington and the villages around it. Every project starts with a free, no-obligation consultation.

Castle Donington is in the North West Leicestershire district, so planning applications and building control go to North West Leicestershire District Council. Castle Donington Parish Council is consulted on applications affecting the village.
Many single storey rear extensions fall under permitted development and need no application. Building regulations approval is separate and applies to almost all structural work. We handle both with you and work alongside Building Control at each inspection stage.

FAQs
Possibly, and there are two to check. Castle Donington has both a village conservation area and a separate High Street conservation area, both among the 28 in the district, each with its own appraisal. Confirm which applies before finalising a design.
North West Leicestershire District Council. Castle Donington Parish Council is consulted on applications in the village. The district council makes the decision.
Not always. It turns on the size, height and position of the extension and on whether the property is listed or in a conservation area. Many single storey rear extensions fall under permitted development. We will tell you what we think applies at the free consultation, before you spend anything on drawings.
Almost always, yes. The two are separate. Planning is about whether the work suits its surroundings; building regulations are about how it is built — structure, insulation, fire safety, drainage and ventilation. Most structural work needs approval even under permitted development.
There is no honest single figure and we would rather not quote one. Cost turns on the size and shape of the extension, ground conditions and foundations, how much glazing you want, the finishes and whether drainage needs moving. We give a written quotation after a free consultation at the property.
If you are building on or near a shared boundary, or excavating close to a neighbouring property, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 may require you to serve notice. That is separate from planning permission. We will flag it if we think it applies, so it is handled early rather than becoming a dispute mid-build.
Get in touch and we will arrange a free consultation at the property. We will talk through what you want to achieve, look at what is practical and give honest guidance on cost and timescales before you commit to anything.
