Home Extensions
We design and build extensions that blend seamlessly with your existing property, creating practical and stylish new living areas that enhance your home’s value.
Explore Our Home ExtensionsKegworth sits in the north east of the district near the Soar and the county boundary. It is well within the area Measom Building Services Ltd has covered since 1998.
The village has an older centre with newer housing spreading out from it, so what is practical varies by street. Older properties usually want more investigation before a large extension goes on.
We are based in Woodville and accredited by the Federation of Master Builders. Most of our work comes from repeat customers and recommendations.
The full range is available in Kegworth and the villages around it. Every project starts with a free, no-obligation consultation.

Kegworth is in the North West Leicestershire district, so North West Leicestershire District Council handles planning applications and building control. Kegworth Parish Council is consulted on applications in the village without deciding them.
Many single storey extensions fall under permitted development and need no application. Almost all structural work needs building regulations approval regardless, which is a separate process. We take you through both and work with Building Control at each inspection.

FAQs
Much of the older centre is. Kegworth is one of the 28 conservation areas in the North West Leicestershire district and the council publishes an appraisal for it. It shapes materials and detailing rather than preventing you from extending.

Not always. It turns on the size, height and position of the extension and on whether the property is listed or in a conservation area. Many single storey rear extensions fall under permitted development. We will tell you what we think applies at the free consultation, before you spend anything on drawings.
Almost always, yes. The two are separate. Planning is about whether the work suits its surroundings; building regulations are about how it is built — structure, insulation, fire safety, drainage and ventilation. Most structural work needs approval even under permitted development.
There is no honest single figure and we would rather not quote one. Cost turns on the size and shape of the extension, ground conditions and foundations, how much glazing you want, the finishes and whether drainage needs moving. We give a written quotation after a free consultation at the property.
If you are building on or near a shared boundary, or excavating close to a neighbouring property, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 may require you to serve notice. That is separate from planning permission. We will flag it if we think it applies, so it is handled early rather than becoming a dispute mid-build.
Get in touch and we will arrange a free consultation at the property. We will talk through what you want to achieve, look at what is practical and give honest guidance on cost and timescales before you commit to anything.
